The Old Philologians Association

Welcome to the Old Philologians Web Site

St Marylebone Grammar School was founded in 1792 and was closed in 1981 by Margaret Thatcher.

The school’s Old Boys Association remained active after the closure and is still active. We have about 350 members. We are all a bit older (just a bit) but most of us are still active.

We organise several functions during the year where we get together to talk about old times.

• We have an annual dinner – generally at The RAF Club in Piccadilly. We all get together and drink a bit too much and talk about old times.

• There are three working weekends at The Mill in Forest Green each year. Some of us attend to work on the grounds and the new building. This is hard work and very much a social affair.

• There is also the Pilgrimage to Forest Green. There is a luncheon at The Mill and a walk up Leith Hill for those of us who still can.

• We have an AGM each year to discuss activities of the Association.

If you were a pupil at SMGS, we would love to hear from you. Why not become a member of the Association. The annual subscription is £5.

Please download the Application form and after completion please send to the association's Treasurer at the following address :- Omar Harmon Esq. - Hon. Treasurer, The Old Philologians, 68 Ockendon Road, London N1 3NW
